• Solicitation12-36 ARRC MP 284.2 Hurricane Bridge Pier #3 Stabilization 

• The attached preliminary information are being furnished to aid prospective Offerors in identifying the locations and type of work for this project. This project shall be advertised during a period when viewing of the project may not be possible due to winter weather conditions. Therefore, prospective bidders are encouraged to view the project during this fall.
• PRE-BID Conference/SITE VISIT: A non-mandatory site visit shall start  at 1:20 PM, Thursday, October 4, 2012. Please confirm attendance to the site visit with Lee Thompson, ARRC Contracts Manager, at 907-265-2608 in advance. Interested bidders will meet at the Alaska Railroad Hurricane Section Facility, located off the Parks Highway on Nagy Road, roughly Parks Highway Mile Post 171. We will be accessing the site via the ARRC Hurricane Turn, It is schedule to arrive at the Hurricane Section Facility at 1:40 PM. Hardhats, steel toed boots, and safety glasses are required. Please dress accordingly. Bidders are encouraged to visit the work site so that they can see the conditions under which the work described in this ITB will be performed.

  • SEALED BIDS WILL BE RECEIVED AT Alaska Railroad Corporation UNTIL 3:00 PM LOCAL TIME ON JANUARY 17, 2013 WHICH TIME BIDS WILL BE PUBLICLY OPENED.
• PRE-BID Conference:
  • A Pre-Bid Conference is scheduled for October 4, 2012 October 11, 2012, at 10:00 AM; the conference will be held at the Port MacKenzie Rail Extension Project Office, 12900 West Creek Frontage Rd., Wasilla, Alaska. A bidder's failure to attend the pre-bid conference will in no way relieve the bidder of the responsibility of performing the work in strict compliance with the true intent and meaning of the terms, conditions and specifications of this ITB.
• PRE-BID Site Visit:
  • A Pre-Bid Site Visit is tentatively scheduled for October 4, 2012 October 11, 2012, at 12:45 PM until 4:00 PM; those wishing to attend will meet at the Port MacKenzie Rail Extension Project Office, 12900 West Creek Frontage Rd., Wasilla, Alaska, Alaska.
    • The final decision to have a site visit will be announced by addendum and confirmed at the morning pre-bid conference. ARRC will provide the Railway Worker Protection (RWP) for the site visit, if it is held.
    • A mandatory job briefing will be held at 12:45 for those interested in visiting the site. Those people attending the site visit shall meet the Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements of Supplemental Condition (SC) - 23 of this ITB, this requirement includes, but is not limited to: Hard Hat, Safety Glasses, Reflective Vest, Steel Toed Boots. ARRC will not provide PPE
