The summer passenger season runs from mid-May to mid-September, with trains running daily between Fairbanks and Anchorage, Whittier and Anchorage, and from Anchorage to Seward. Through our winter season, the Aurora Winter train runs between Anchorage and Fairbanks on weekends, and the Hurricane Turn train operates the first Thursday of the month (Schedule).

Different Ways to See Alaska

Coastal Classic Train
Tracing scenic Turnagain Arm from Anchorage to Seward, this train climbs steadily through a sea of mountain peaks, passing glaciers and river valleys along the way. Dogsled rides on a glacier and day cruises in Resurrection Bay are just a couple of the exciting options available in Seward.

Glacier Discovery Train
This route skirts Cook Inlet, giving passengers frequent spottings of beluga whales in the waters below and dahl sheep along the rocks above. There are many options to explore Prince William Sound and the remote river valley at Spencer Glacier through day cruises and rafting options.

Denali Star Train
A fantastic journey to visit Alaska's most popular national park. The 365-mile route provides frequent views of Mt. McKinley and offers spectacular first-class travel with GoldStar Service.

Aurora Winter Train
The train whispers its way past snow-blanketed landscapes, through the peaceful land of the Aurora Borealis. Arctic-blue skies backdrop glimpses of Denali and some of Alaska's most inspiring scenery. Ride north on Saturday and south on Sunday on one of our winter rail tour packages.

Hurricane Turn Train
This one of a kind, flag-stop train runs between Talkeetna and Hurricane Gulch, threading its way along the Susitna River. Summer season runs are Thursday through Sunday, and winter season runs are the first Thursday of the month.
