UPDATED July 5 at 12:30 PM: Due to the ongoing impacts of the Riley Fire, the Alaska Railroad will operate modified service on the Denali Star Train route on Friday, July 5 and Saturday, July 6.
Northbound passengers will travel by train between Anchorage to Talkeetna and Cantwell, and between Healy and Fairbanks. Transportation between Cantwell, Denali, and Healy will be provided by bus.
Southbound passengers will travel by train between Fairbanks and Healy, and between Cantwell and Talkeetna to Anchorage. Transportation between Healy, Denali, and Cantwell will be provided by bus.
Passengers traveling from Denali, please check in at the Princess Lodge at your originally scheduled time to meet your bus transfer from Denali to Cantwell or Healy. Onboard amenities will be provided as usual onboard the train.
At the Alaska Railroad, we believe that the journey should be as spectacular as the destination. Of course, the destinations we serve – Denali National Park, Seward, Talkeetna and more – set a pretty high bar. But with two classes of passenger service, full-service onboard dining, and tracks that just happen to wind through some of the most spectacular scenery on earth, we think you’ll agree that the best way to travel Alaska is by rail.
Our locally-based, expert reservationists are happy to help you plan your ideal Alaska rail itinerary, and can even book accommodations and activities at each stop.
