Building Lease Information
LEED Historic Freight Shed
The Alaska Railroad Corporation has completed the renovation of its historic freight shed, Alaska's first historic building certified under the U.S. Green Building Council's Leadership Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) program.
The project is the beginning of the overall vision for Ship Creek revitalization to create a community commerce center and market atmosphere in the Ship Creek area akin to Vancouver's Granville Island or Seattle's Pike Place Market.
Historic Depot
The Alaska Railroad Corporation offers office space in the Anchorage Historic Depot located on 1st Avenue in downtown Anchorage. This prime office is located just steps away from the downtown core district, the Port of Anchorage, and some of the best urban salmon fishing in the world. An anchor in the new Ship Creek Intermodal Facility and part of the revitalization of the Ship Creek area, the Anchorage Historic Depot is a hub of activity, connected by rail and vehicle traffic.

Land Reserves
The Alaska Railroad was deeded land reserves along its mainline by the federal government. The major reserves, shown on the map below, provide the ARRC with the land base to provide transportation services into the future, and accommodate customers through land leases and permits.
