UPDATE: The Riley Fire at Denali National Park continues to be an active event, preventing passenger service on the Alaska Railroad through Denali. As such, we have made the following schedule changes for Tuesday, July 2. The northbound Denali Star Train will depart as scheduled at 8:20 AM from the Anchorage depot to Talkeetna. Upon arrival in Talkeetna, guests will transfer to a motorcoach for the remainder of their trip to Denali, and Fairbanks.
There will be no southbound train service on Tuesday, July 2, from Fairbanks to Anchorage. However, motorcoach transportation will be provided. Please plan your train trip accordingly. Your safety is our utmost concern and making these temporary changes is unavoidable. Please check back for daily updates.
At the Alaska Railroad, we believe that the journey should be as spectacular as the destination. Of course, the destinations we serve – Denali National Park, Seward, Talkeetna and more – set a pretty high bar. But with two classes of passenger service, full-service onboard dining, and tracks that just happen to wind through some of the most spectacular scenery on earth, we think you’ll agree that the best way to travel Alaska is by rail.
Our locally-based, expert reservationists are happy to help you plan your ideal Alaska rail itinerary, and can even book accommodations and activities at each stop.
