Charitable Giving
The Alaska Railroad has been an important contributor to Alaska's communities since construction began in 1914. In line with this tradition, the Alaska Railroad donates to railbelt communities and organizations. This includes hundreds of non-profits that enhance educational opportunities, community quality of life, economic health, community services and business development.

The Alaska Railroad focuses the majority of its charitable giving in the form of in-kind contributions, such as rail tickets, prints and posters, used ties, used equipment and other surplus material. Contributions also include transportation services, such as freight hauling or special charters. Links to in-kind donation request forms are below. Contribution of company assets that are valued at more than $10,000 (such as rail equipment) must be approved by the ARRC Board of Directors. Contribution of special passenger charters requires approval by the ARRC President & CEO.
